Hello, my name is Troy Chin.

I was born in Singapore, but I left the island for America in 1998. After almost a decade over there, I returned home to try my hand at drawing comics. It was something entirely new to me.

In the latter half of 2007, I started work on a series attempting to capture the culture shock and experiences of someone in my shoes. Sixty pages in, realizing that the fictional events and narrative would not work, I recycled whatever images I could and put my real self into the comic.

The Resident Tourist was the end result.
